Sundae Customer Story: Stress-Free Selling Made Simple

Roy and Blanche wanted to sell their home. However, the thought of selling seemed like a daunting task–until they found Sundae. 

Many people consider selling a home to be one of the most stressful life events. There are abounding questions that often accompany this overwhelming feeling. Everything from getting the property ready to sell and listing the house to moving afterwards can seem daunting. 

Roy and Blanche were like most people in this situation. They were ready to sell their house in Washington, but the idea of the stress that accompanies selling deterred them for many years. When they discovered that selling doesn’t have to be stressful, everything changed.

When maintenance got tough, it was time to sell

Over the course of time, houses require many types of upkeep. There are big expenses like putting on a new roof and more minor upkeep tasks like landscaping. After 45 years of living in their home, the couple had had enough. During that period of time, they completed one major renovation along with other updates along the way. At a certain point though, the house became too much additional work.

Roy began to have health issues that hindered his ability to maintain the house to his standards. Knowing that maintenance is crucial to any home, Roy and Blanche agreed that it was time to sell. The only question was how were they going to go about this process.

Were they going to sell on the Multiple Listing Service (MLS)? An iBuyer? One day, they received a flier in the mail and everything became crystal clear.

Choosing Sundae

In many ways, it wasn’t a matter of “if” it was a matter of when they would sell. They were thinking of selling for a long time. One hesitation that Blanche and her husband had was managing the logistics. Roy said that “just the thought of preparing to get the house ready for sale was overwhelming.” 

When the couple discovered Sundae, a huge perk was the ability to sell as is as opposed to making costly and time consuming updates. Blanche noted that when they spoke to real estate agents,“they wanted us to spend quite a bit of money updating the house, whereas Sundae did not.”

Initially, these offerings made Blanche feel like Sundae was too good to be true. In the end our team won Blanche over by delivering on our promise from start to finish.

Roy recalled that “ the Market Expert and an inspector came to check out the house and take pictures.” Other than that, there wasn’t really any interruption to their day-to-day life. On top of that, Blanche was enthralled that Sundae stuck to the given timeline.

The best part? They ended up getting several offers and went with one that exceeded their expectations.  

Relax, enjoy, and repeat in retirement

Roy and Blanche have adjusted to a new way of living since selling their home . With home ownership behind them, they’re enjoying retirement with far fewer responsibilities.  Roy described his health situation and how home maintenance became a stressor. Given his circumstance, “food preparation was challenging before. Now we just show up and eat.” 

At the community they reside in, they get to enjoy the little things everyday. Rather than the monotony and  minutia, Blanche commented that “ our new living situation is very relaxing. We can do whatever we want to do: paint, golf, and enjoy life.” Needless to say, Roy and Blanche feel like they made the right decision.
